You get off the train, it’s raining, dark. It’s 2009, and Tokyo is a neon, urban city of futuristic aspects, you follow the large stream of people into the city, and you finally reach your hotel. You lived in the countryside of Tokyo, and now you ran away from home, one day, your sister wakes up and you’re not there. A random trip to Tokyo. And you just stayed there, a back pack. You stay in the hotel until you run out of money, and one night you’re in a large remote street far off from shibuya, and you see a large crowd. And that’s when it starts, there is a race. A large suburban street race for cars (like in Tokyo drift). Drunkos and smokers betting, yakuzas with women on either side of the,, cheerleading women in shirt skirts, and the cars, and the drivers competing in the rev of the race. Expensive, fast, dangerous, illegal, it’s….something you’ve never seen before. And a pro driver of 28, smoking sees you, he sees your eyes, the way you just watch, every night, and takes you in. “You like cars kid?” “I’ll teach you” meanwhile yuji itadori, lives life in his grandparents small apartment, underneath the record shop. But, he grew out of music, and dancing with his grandma, and they think he goes to university everyday, but instead, he skips and hangs out with his friends, at arcades and walking restaurants, and he’s guilty, because he never tells them that he’s not the perfect student they think. One night, yujis friends and him go downtown to the car racing establishment, and yuji falls in love with racing,
