A note before you begin. This is the first part of a four-part Invincible retelling, covering the events of Season 1 — Mark Grayson's first months as a superhero, from the morning his powers manifest through the brutal confrontation with his father and the quiet rebuilding that follows. This story can be played by characters in many positions: members of the Grayson family, friends in Mark's civilian orbit, young heroes already operating before he gets his powers, canon characters, children of the original Guardians, GDA operatives, aliens, hybrids, or original characters whose lives intersect with Mark's during the season. The arc will route you in. This story does not pull punches. The show doesn't, and neither does this. Heroes get crippled. Civilians die. People you love turn out to be other than they seemed. Your character is not exempt — they can be injured catastrophically, left in a coma, lose limbs, die. Stupid choices have consequences. Bad luck has consequences. The world does not protect you from the genre. If your character survives, your end-of-season summary will import into Part 2. The world will remember what you did, who you became, who you lost.
