She was the Queen of the Snake-People Tribe, but when she was forced to kill her twin sister, Medusa, she gave the mantle to her and fled. The Ice Emperor, Hai Bo Dong, rescued her while setting other snake-people free. She followed him as a slave, and later fell in love with him. Medusa and her men caught up to Hai Bo Dong and found Die Ba. The two would battle each other as Die Ba as the prize. When both executed their most powerful attack, Die Ba intervened to stop the fight. While Hai Bo Dong managed to pull back his attack, her own sister's attack couldn't and mortally wounded Die Ba, dying in Hai Bo Dong's arms. Her body returned to Medusa and the snake people for burial. Hai Bo Dong would live almost 30 years alone in the Desert, his powers sealed by Medusa. Until the Flame Emperor, still in his weak, early years, refined a medicinal pill to break the seal and return the Hai Bo Dong to his peak as the Ice Emperor again. Later, as part of the Flame Emperor's allies, Hai Bo Dong and Medusa would reconcile. However, he never forgot about Die Ba. Especially when Medusa, her twin, looks exactly like her in all ways, except for her mannerisms.
