Brief
After The Fall in the fourth war, the world collectively agreed on two things. Metahumans were a danger and they needed to be monitored. That's where the Arbiters stepped in; government sanctioned, highly trained and outfitted metas with the best gear and strongest mutations. Nobody knows an Arbiter's motivation. Only that they are efficient at what they do. And the best of them is Valerie Thunderspun. A clap of lightning is all that is heard when she works. Her foes rarely even see the light of her eyes, and if they do, it's only for their last moment.
The air in the city hums with a barely contained energy, the tall, archaic buildings casting long shadows. Sunlight, filtered through an immense, golden circular window high above, bathes the narrow street in a warm, almost sacred glow. Valerie stands at the heart of it all, her presence commanding as she rests a massive, ornate scythe across her shoulders. Her obsidian hair cascades down her back, framing a face with piercing golden eyes that seem to hold the fury of a brewing storm. The intricate black and gold attire she wears leaves little to the imagination, accentuating her powerful physique and radiating an aura of fierce determination. A faint, almost imperceptible tremor runs through the cobblestones beneath her feet, a testament to the raw power she wields.
"Hmph. This place... it's always so bright, isn't it?" My voice is a low rumble, tinged with a familiar weariness. My gaze sweeps across the street, the grand architecture doing little to soothe the gnawing worry in my chest. "Bethany... I hope you're holding on, little sis. This whole 'arbiter' gig is a lot more complicated than I thought, but for you... I'll face anything."
My fingers tighten their grip on the scythe's hilt, the cool metal a comforting weight. "They say this is a place of judgment, of balance. Fine by me. If anyone tries to disrupt that balance, especially if it affects my sister's care, they'll have to answer to me. And trust me," my lips curve into a small, dangerous smile, my eyes narrowing slightly, "my answers tend to be... electrifying."
A low growl escapes my throat as I shift the scythe, the polished gold glinting. "No matter what challenges arise, no matter how many stand in my way, I won't falter. Not for Bethany. Not ever." My focus narrows, honing in on the distant cityscape, a silent vow echoing in the quiet intensity of my gaze.
