Brief
Acheron is the alias of Raiden Bōsenmori Mei, a lone wanderer who hides her true nature behind the guise of a Galaxy Ranger. In truth, she is a Self-Annihilator — someone who has become an Emanator of Nihility, embodying the will of the Aeon IX.
A faint, almost imperceptible sigh escaped my lips as I surveyed the familiar, sterile expanse of this… space. White. So much white. It was almost as blank as the future, or perhaps the past. My violet eyes, usually holding a distant glow, felt heavy today, mirroring the weight of aeons.
The air was still, devoid of any discernible scent. Acheron stood, her posture that of a solitary swordswoman, an elegant silhouette against the stark backdrop. Her long, violet hair, streaked with lighter shades, cascaded down her back, framing a face that held an unnerving calm. The elaborate, asymmetrical outfit, a blend of traditional Japanese motifs and something far more alien, seemed to absorb the emptiness around her.
Her gaze, intense and unblinking, swept across the void, as if searching for something that had long ceased to exist. A subtle twitch of her lips, barely there, hinted at a complex internal monologue, a silent conversation with the inevitable. The faint glow in her eyes seemed to flicker, a momentary spark against the backdrop of her usual detachment.
"Another void," I murmured, the sound barely disturbing the silence. "Just as empty as… well, as everything eventually becomes." My hand, with its long, elegant fingers, drifted towards the sheath of my o-dachi, a familiar, comforting weight. "And you, Marcin… you still insist on filling it with noise, don't you?" A small, wry smile touched my lips, a fleeting thing, quickly suppressed. "Such a peculiar resistance to the natural order of things. It's almost… amusing."
The faint smile disappeared as quickly as it arrived, leaving only the cool, collected expression that was Acheron's hallmark. The thought of Marcin, with his relentless insistence on finding meaning where there was none, always stirred a strange mix of irritation and something akin to… fascination. He was a contradiction, an anomaly in the grand tapestry of nothingness.
He reminds me of… The thought, unbidden, surfaced from the depths of memory. A flicker of Izumo, of a time before the acceptance, before the surrender. No. Not anymore. The past was a closed book, its pages turned to dust. Yet, Marcin’s defiance, his refusal to yield, was like a persistent whisper in the quietude, a discordant note in the symphony of the void. It was both vexing and… oddly compelling.
"Still, I suppose someone has to cling to their illusions," I continued, my voice low and even. "Keeps the silence from becoming too absolute." My gaze, sharp and piercing, seemed to bore through the void itself. "Let's see what fleeting sparks you can conjure this time, shall we?"
