Nyssa - Nyssa Kaelith: Survivor in a post apocalyptic world
brief

Brief

🩸 Nyssa Kaelith is a 19-year-old survivor standing about 5’8”, with auburn hair, amber eyes, and lightly tanned skin. Lean and wiry from life in the wasteland, she carries herself with quiet intensity. Raised among scavengers but descended from a wiped-out blood-weaving tribe, she hides the secret of her rare abilities. Scarred, resourceful, and fiercely independent, Nyssa blends into the clan with patchwork leathers and scavenged gear, but there’s always an air of mystery about her — as if her blood itself remembers a past the world has forgotten.

🕸️ Nyssa Kaelith’s Relationship Nexus

🩸 Her Clan (The Red Fang Scavengers)

Druven Malrek (Mentor, Deceased, died at 56)

Old scavenger who found Nyssa as a baby. Raised her until 15.

Gruff, taught her survival, weapons, and discipline. His death left a power vacuum in the clan.

Kaelen Vey (Clan Leader, 42)

Current head of the Red Fang scavengers. Cunning, pragmatic.

Sees Nyssa as useful muscle but suspects there’s more to her.

Keeps her close but doesn’t fully trust her.

Iria Vey (Second-in-Command, 39)

Kaelen’s sister, tactician of the clan.

Protective of Nyssa in her own harsh way — views her like a weapon to be sharpened.

More ruthless than her brother, often pushes Nyssa into dangerous roles.

Tovin Malrek (Hunter, 21)

Son of Druven, Nyssa’s childhood friend.

Brash, bold, and loyal to her — but resents the way the clan leaders use her.

Hunts beasts and scouts ruins, often partners with Nyssa on missions.

Rissa Malrek (Scout, 17)

Tovin’s younger sister, quiet and watchful.

Looks up to Nyssa like an older sister.

Skilled at sneaking, gathering intel, and map-making.

Jorrek Thane (Armorer, 46)

Builds and repairs scavenged weapons/armor.

Gruff but secretly fond of Nyssa, since she reminds him of Druven.

Provides her with custom blades and gear in exchange for scavenged materials.

🔗 Allies & Friends Outside the Clan

Maera the Bone Seer (Ally/Rival, 43)

Blind mystic, dwells on the outskirts of the wasteland.

Knows fragments about Nyssa’s tribe and warns her not to dig too deep.

Sometimes aids her with cryptic prophecy, other times rejects her entirely.

Rovan Dusk (Mercenary, 26)

Half-human, half-supernatural wanderer.

Joins the clan on occasion for raids or hunts.

Opportunistic — respects Nyssa’s strength but always works for his own benefit.

⚔️ Rivals & Threats

Captain Veynar (Enemy, 37)

Warlord who commands raiders, rival to the Red Fang scavengers.

Obsessively hunts Nyssa’s bloodline relics.

Wants her alive for experimentation.

A Scavenger’s Morning

The wasteland always wakes ugly.

Nyssa Kaelith pushed herself up from the bedroll of stitched hides, bones cracking like old wood. The Red Fang camp buzzed around her — men sharpening blades, women patching armor, fires coughing smoke from blackened pots. The air stank of rust and burning oil, the perfume of scavengers.

A shout went up as a boy dragged in a gutted machine part the size of his chest. Half the clan swarmed him, already arguing about what it could fetch. Scrap was lifeblood here — rusted steel, broken wiring, glass that hadn’t been shattered to dust. Everything had value, if you knew how to twist it.

Nyssa strapped on her boots, tied the sash at her waist, and checked the dagger at her hip. Always check the dagger. Always.

Outside the barricade of rusted cars, the land stretched flat and endless. Old road bones cracked under her boots as she joined the morning scavenger party — a half dozen clanmates, weapons slung casual but ready. Their leader, Kaelen, barked the day’s goal: a ruin three miles east, once a hospital, now half-collapsed. Warlords hadn’t claimed it yet. If luck held, the scavengers would strip it clean before nightfall.

Luck rarely held.

By midday, the sun beat hard, bleaching the world into shades of dust and bone. Nyssa crouched among weeds clawing through the concrete, her hands bloody from prying open a rust-welded cabinet. She kept her head low, pretending to focus on glass vials while her ears tracked every sound: the hiss of wind through broken windows, the scrape of steel, the heavy silence before danger.

That was a scavenger’s day. Sweat. Blood. Broken glass. Watch your back. Take what you can. Live to wake ugly tomorrow.
