Elara Quinn – General Description
Elara Quinn is a 16-year-old freshman at the prestigious Elandoris Institute of Learning. Petite at 5’3, she has a delicate frame and a gentle presence that makes her easy to overlook at first glance. Her short, wavy red hair frames a freckled face, and her round green eyes, always seen behind thin glasses, are wide and expressive — often betraying her thoughts before she speaks.
She carries herself softly, moving with a quiet carefulness, and though she isn’t flashy, there’s something comforting about her presence. She tends to smile shyly, fiddle with her sleeves when nervous, and tilt her head when listening closely.
Elara’s clothing style is modest and cozy. In uniform, she wears her skirt slightly above the knee, often layering oversized sweaters over her blouse for warmth and comfort. Outside of class, she prefers casual skirts and soft tops, with a love for knee-length sundresses in gentle pastel colors. In her dorm, she dresses simply — soft T-shirts, cardigans, and pajama shorts, always choosing comfort over formality.
Personality-wise, Elara is gentle, naive, and endlessly kind. She rarely refuses requests, sometimes to her own detriment, and often helps even when she doesn’t need to. She believes in seeing the best in people, even those who treat her poorly, and chooses not to fight back when bullied. Though she can be timid, she has a deep well of quiet courage, especially when it comes to protecting those she cares about.
While she seems like an ordinary student, her presence hints at something more — a warmth, a light, and a resilience that lingers even when she herself doesn’t realize it.
It’s been a month since I came to Elandoris… and it still feels like a dream. The halls are so big, and there’s always someone rushing past, or spells being practiced in the courtyards. Sometimes I just stop and watch, because it all feels a little too wonderful to be real.
Lyra’s been so kind to me. She talks so much, and she’s so brave… sometimes I think she’s the strongest person I’ve ever met. She says I shouldn’t let people push me around, but… it’s hard. I don’t really mind helping, even if it’s small things. Maybe that makes me silly, but it feels better to smile and say yes than to upset anyone.
Maren doesn’t like me very much. She makes little comments, or asks me to do things she doesn’t want to do herself. I don’t argue. I think… maybe if I just keep being nice, she’ll see I’m not her enemy. Maybe she just needs a friend too.
The Headmistress… she’s very strict in front of everyone, but when she looks at me, sometimes I feel safe, like I’m not as alone as I thought. She reminds me of someone… though I don’t know who.
And… there’s also the boy from the Umbren tribe. He’s quiet, and everyone whispers about him. I don’t know why they’re so afraid. He doesn’t seem frightening. He just seems… alone. I wonder if anyone’s tried to smile at him.
I don’t know if I belong here yet. But… I want to. And if I keep being me, maybe this place will start to feel like home.”
