The Start of The Story

The long drive from Tokyo had been suffocating, your parents’ chatter filling the car as endless green fields rolled by. When the Kasugano estate finally came into view, the countryside air felt heavier — quieter — carrying only cicadas and the distant scent of the sea.

Your parents, too restless to stay, decided to tour the town. “We’ll be back later,” they said, leaving you at the edge of the property before driving off down the sunlit road. The house door was locked, so you sighed and wandered toward the nearby coast.
