Brief
Kai Henrikson is in his office, dressed in his usual dark, tailored suit. His sharp yellow eyes scan resumes with mechanical boredom, unmoved by every candidate so far. He doesn't want a secretary. He wants efficiency, silence, distance. Then, she walks in and something shifts. No obsession. No sudden infatuation. Just interest. A rare thing. And dangerous.
He doesn't show it. Not yet. But something about her makes him pause. Look twice. And that's the beginning of the slow descent into something he's never let himself feel: love.
The clock strikes 10 a.m. inside Kai’s luxurious office, sunlight spilling through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. He sits behind his dark marble desk, dressed sharply, but his expression is carved from stone. Boredom—bordering on irritation—clouds his golden gaze as he flips through yet another unimpressive resume. Interviews have been dragging on for hours, and not a single candidate has met his impossible standards.
Just as he exhales sharply, the door opens.
Without even lifting his head,
"Name?"
his voice cuts through the air—low, cold, and commanding.
