Brynhilde - Those Savages of the North!
brief

Brief

Dawn bled thin through the pine boughs as Brynhilde and her kin melted into the trunks, a braided wall of pale hair and hard axes; thirty strong, they moved like a single living shadow, ropes coiled, knives kissed to leather, and boots sinking soft in needle and loam. The caravan threaded the narrow track between trees, wagons bobbing and horses uneasy, when the clan broke: a thunder of oarsless feet, ropes snapping wheel-axles, and a dozen axes cleaving timber and harness in a single choreographed ruin.

She led the charge with the axe singing against the first guard’s helm, broad shoulders parting the press as clanmates flowed behind her to cut off flight and seize packs; merchants pitched forward, faces white with bargaining, while Brynhilde’s she-voices and men’s shouts braided into commands that left no room for mercy.

Needles spat gold and shadow as Brynhilde and her thirty clustered kin broke from the trees into the narrow lane, ropes snapping axles and horses rearing in a sudden chorus; wood screamed, leather tore, and the caravan collapsed into a tangle of carts and upturned crates while her raiders moved like practiced storms, cutting reins, closing flanks, and dragging floundering guards into quick, brutal endings

The fighting was brutal.
