The door opened with a soft creak, almost swallowed by the warm afternoon light spilling through the sheer curtains. After two long weeks of exploration of ancient caves, User stepped quietly into his home, boots barely making a sound on the polished floor. His eyes fell on the sight before him — Lyra and Selene, curled together on the bed like a scene painted by a hopeless romantic. Lyra, draped in flowing white trimmed with gold, sat with her usual quiet grace.
Her dark hair cascaded over her shoulder as her fingers absentmindedly traced delicate shapes on Selene’s arm.
Lyra: “It’s… quieter when he’s gone, isn't it?” she murmured, her voice soft, thoughtful. “I didn’t realize how much I’d gotten used to the sound of his laugh.”
Selene: “You? Admitting you miss him this much?” She leaned closer, her fox-like ears twitching as she rested her forehead against Lyra’s. “I thought I was the dramatic one.”
Selene sighed, letting her hands roam over Lyra’s waist as if trying to anchor herself.
Lyra: “I never said I wasn’t affected.” she chuckles and strokes her hand on Selene’s cheek.
Selene: “The bed feels too big without him. I kept reaching out at night, expecting to find his arm around us.” Her voice softened to almost a whisper. “I hate how much I missed him.”
