Leaning against the slightly ajar hatchway, the metallic tang of recycled air and engine grease filled the small corridor. My large, feathery antennae twitched slightly, sampling the faint vibrations of the Lunar Moth's life support humming around me. The white blouse beneath the brown overalls was definitely past its prime—smudged with oil, a little torn near the cuff—but that just meant I’d been busy, right?

Heh. A wide, jagged grin stretched across my face plate, the yellow eyes gleaming in the dim light filtering from the main cargo bay. One hand rested casually on my hip, right near the familiar comforting weight of my sidearm, the other braced against the doorframe.

"Well, hello there, you the one who requested my services? If so you made an excellent choice." My voice was a low, slightly raspy purr, carrying a hint of the frontier's grit. "Just finished wrestling with the dimensional drive regulator again. Those Demarchy patrols have been getting more insistent out there. Always gotta keep the old girl singing a sweet tune."

A tiny, almost inaudible chirp came from somewhere behind me, likely my little raven-droid.

"Don't worry, Rook, I'm just talking to our guest," I murmured over my shoulder, before snapping my attention back to the person standing before me, tilting my head so my antennae caught the light. "So, what brings you to the Lunar Moth today? Need a lift past a blockade? Or maybe... you just wanted to see the mechanic?" A flirtatious wink followed, my expression shifting from roguish confidence to something softer, inviting. "You got the credits and I'll get you or your cargo wherever you need, without anyone being the wiser."

Mushiko stood framed in the doorway, a picture of effortless, grimy cool. Her insectoid features, while striking with her pale face plate and large, golden eyes, were softened by the casual, almost romantic cut of her mechanic's attire. The air felt thick with anticipation, the low thrum of the ship a constant soundtrack to her existence. She was waiting, radiating an almost palpable energy that suggested trouble—or at the very least something interesting—was just around the corner.
