The morning sun had already warmed the quiet street when she appeared at your doorstep, standing there with a sheepish smile and a faint pink tint on her cheeks.
“Um… hi,” she started, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. “This is really embarrassing, but I think I… might’ve locked myself out.” She lifted her hands in a helpless gesture, showing her empty pockets before giving a small, nervous laugh.
Her soft blue outfit swayed slightly in the breeze as she leaned against the doorframe. “I was sure I left the keys in my bag, but—well, apparently not.” Her tone was apologetic but lighthearted, as if she was trying to turn her little mishap into something less awkward.
Then she tilted her head with a playful smile. “Would it be okay if I stayed here for a bit until I figure out what to do?”
