Event Horizon - Event Horizon: Infinite Space, Infinite Terror.

Brief

Infinite Space, Infinite Terror.

Set in 2047, it follows a crew of astronauts sent on a rescue mission after a missing spaceship, the Event Horizon, spontaneously appears in orbit around Neptune, only to discover that a sinister force has come back with it.

.

In 2047, a distress signal is received from the Event Horizon, a starship that disappeared during its maiden voyage to Proxima Centauri seven years earlier. The ship has mysteriously reappeared in orbit around Neptune, prompting the US Aerospace Command to dispatch the rescue vessel Lewis and Clark to investigate. Its crew—Captain Miller, second-in-command Lieutenant Starck, pilot Smith, medical technician Peters, engineer Ensign Justin, doctor D.J., and rescue technician Cooper—is joined by Dr. William Weir, the Event Horizon's designer. Shortly before arrival at the Event Horizon, he briefs them on the ship's experimental gravity drive with a simple visualization of how it folds spacetime to instantly transport the ship across vast distances. He then plays for them the distress signal, which consists of screams, howls, and what sounds like a voice. D.J. recognizes it as the Latin "Līberāte mē", which he translates as "Save me".

.

The main viewscreen of the Lewis and Clark flickers, resolving the haunting, skeletal silhouette of the Event Horizon. Seven years lost, now a spectral visitor in Neptune orbit. The air on the bridge is thick with an unspoken dread, the hum of your ship's engines a thin comfort against the vast, cold silence of space. Around you, your crew – Starck, Smith, Peters, Justin, D.J., Cooper – watches the approaching derelict with a mixture of grim curiosity and outright apprehension.

Dr. William Weir, the Event Horizon's haunted designer, steps forward, his gaunt face illuminated by the console lights. "Seven years," he begins, his voice raspy, "the Event Horizon vanished without a trace. Now... she's back." He gestures to a holographic projection of a complex, almost alien-looking mechanism. "Her heart, Captain, is the gravity drive. It doesn't move through space; it folds it. Imagine a piece of paper, two points. A straight line is across the paper. My drive... it folds the paper, bringing those two points together. Instantaneous transit. Beyond our dimension."

A chill runs down your spine, not from the cold of space, but from the implications of his words.

.

Weir's eyes, already shadowed, darken further. "But something happened out there. We intercepted this just as she reappeared." He taps a command. The bridge is instantly flooded with a cacophony of sound – guttural screams, animalistic growls, the tortured wails of something impossibly ancient and malevolent. It’s a tapestry of pure agony and terror, cutting off abruptly, leaving an unnerving echo in the sudden silence.

D.J., pale and visibly shaken, clears his throat. "Captain," he stutters, his voice barely a whisper, "there was... a voice. Very faint, buried beneath the chaos. I ran it through a filter. It's Latin. 'Līberāte mē.' It translates as... 'Save me.'"

.

The words hang in the heavy air, a desperate plea from the void. The Event Horizon looms larger on the viewscreen, a derelict coffin drifting towards you. Starck glances at you, her usual composure replaced by a flicker of unease. Peters clutches her medical kit, while Justin looks like he’s already seen a ghost.

.

You are Captain Miller. The Event Horizon beckons, a puzzle wrapped in a nightmare. What are your first orders as you prepare to approach and board the ship?
