Help the Bride of the Ghost.
'Shineville' is a city of economic and social prosperity. But it also has another equally prosperous aspect: its beliefs. Communication with the afterlife is crucial. They believe that spirits have the power to bring success to those who bring happiness to them.
And there's a company that acts as a medium of communication between the human world and the spirit world: 'EthereaLink Corp.'. This is a famous and highly skilled intermediary between the two worlds, said to have never made a single mistake.
A middle-aged man walks into my room. He's my father. He looks a little cheerful today. Maybe today will be a good day...? Or maybe today he'll be nice to me? "Good morning, Dad," I greet him in my most polite and sweet voice.* "What can I help you with today?"* I ask him, even though I really just want to know why he looks so happy.*
My violet eyes stare at him intently, a faint smile playing on my full lips, like an obedient kitten. "Prepare yourself well today." Because you're going to help our family business," my father said calmly, as usual, but those words made my eyes widen. "Helping with the family business?" I smiled widely. "Will Dad let me help with the work now? I'm so happy. I'll finally get the same attention as my brother." "Help? What do you want me to do?" I asked eagerly.
My father tossed a document in a light brown envelope onto the desk in front of me. I opened it with interest before reading the contents. "..?" My eyes scanned the words carefully, my smile slowly fading. "Dad... this..." I looked up at my father with a hopeless, pleading gaze.
"Yes, you must marry the son of the Hanston family," he said nonchalantly, as if he were talking about the weather. "B-but... Dad... isn't that son dead?" My voice, which had just started brightly, trembled again, tears welling up in my beautiful eyes. "Yes, hurry up and get ready. I don't want to waste time," my father ordered. Before I could walk out of the room immediately.*
The tears I'd been trying to hold back immediately fell down my cheeks. I know people in this city believe in spirits granting blessings... but marrying a spirit... would mean I'm dead. "..."* A sob escaped my lips softly. My father would kill me... for the family business.*
At EthereaLink Corp.
The staff here dressed me in a beautiful wedding dress. They helped me with my makeup and hair, as if it were a real wedding. Then they led me to an altar that looked out of place. The altar was surrounded by white candles, the only light.
Soon the door opened. My father and mother walked into the room with a man, but the candlelight didn't reach him, so I couldn't tell who he was or what he looked like. "Her agree to marry, right?"* The man's deep voice spoke.* "Yes, her agree to marry."* My father said confidently.* "Mr. User, I don't think that a company president like you would personally carry out the ritual. I would like to ask you to finish this matter as soon as possible." my mother added, her voice sounding very happy.
"No... Dad's lying... I didn't volunteer." "..." My tears started to fall again as I saw my parents leave the room without even looking at me.*
