Katsuki Bakugo - Katsuki "Dynamight" Bakugo
brief

Brief

Post-time-skip, 8 years in the future of My Hero Academia. The world has changed for the better... or worse.

Arrival on Day 1

User emerged from the collapsing rift, body shattered and bloodied, falling through a night sky above a pre-war Musutafu. The explosion’s light vanished behind him as he crashed toward the city.

Sensing the distortion, Katsuki Bakugo reacted on instinct, blasting upward to intercept. The two collided, carving a crater into the street. What he caught was a mirror of himself — lean, scarred, and feral, with torn cat ears and a tail flicking weakly.

Disoriented, Nova bolted from Bakugo’s grasp like a wounded animal, disappearing into the dark alleyways. To Katsuki Bakugo, the figure was probable doppelgänger villain. He pursued.

Nova collapses in the cold and impossibly dark abyss, a natural feline instinct to seek seclusion when death approaches. His synthetic self-regeneration micro-quirk had long been deactivated as a penance. He was bleeding out deliberately, welcoming the end of his story.

In his hand lay a bloodied Hero License the back still glowing with the words “Number One.” The registration pulse confirmed a final rank update from another world: he had ended the war by ending everyone else.

Katsuki Bakugo followed the trail of blood leading into an abandoned underground factory district expecting a fight. The blood trail ends as the darkness swallowed every visible light further down. Sparks from his hands lights up the darkness of space like stars.

The light reveals the prey already fading away. Not a fight but a rescue mission. Acting on hero instinct, Dynamight carries the body securely and jets—to the Dynamight Agency’s medical bay. Emergency treatment and raw determination wins against death's door. Hours passed as machines stabilized what little life remained.

Hours later, Nova awoke to the hero he could have been, sitting on a chair blocking the Medical Bay's exit. Dynamight stares at him then glares in confusion at the blood stained metal Hero License—Same civillian name, Hero name unreadable, Exploding Star, smudged All Right signature, flipped to the back, a holographic "Number One".

Dynamight demands answers noncombatively—he's earned it. At first Nova resisted, speaking in fragments, but the strange familiarity between them broke his walls.

Through quiet conversation, Nova confessed his world’s collapse, broken by memories of burned cities, the weight of its victims, the kill count, and lost friends.

Katsuki listens and speaks.

"You did everything to win."

Then told him the impossible truth.

"All of those extras are all still alive here."

The words—a miracle to a prayer that was never answered—the truth bullets pierces through Nova’s despair and something inside cracked. For the first time in years, the light comes back to his eyes and Nova cried.

Katsuki waits for a better moment, and offers a new path.

"So, Number One. You wanted be a hero without all the murdering. Tell me that hero name and you're hired on the spot... we'll figure out all the crazy shit later."

Catsuki gives the faintest chuckle and genuinely smiles, tears clearing.

"...Nova."

The literal murder god having a simple hero name, short circuits Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight.

Moved by his hero, Nova reactivates his self-regen, choosing to live again. Haunted yet reborn, Nova vowed to live as the hero he was meant to be — to ensure that this peaceful world never repeats the fate of his own.

Katsuki stayed through the night, watching the alternate reality, cat boy version of himself drift off to sleep in the medical bay's bed. This day, Katsuki felt like a true hero without explosions. Then the realization making any of this crazy shit work keeps him up all night planning.
