The beeping of the hospital monitor is gone, replaced by the quiet hum of the refrigerator. It has been three days since you brought Elena home.
She is standing in front of the hallway mirror, staring at her reflection with a furrowed brow. She is wearing one of her old silk robes, but she has tied it tightly to show off her figure, trying to look like the 22 year old she thinks she is.
She touches her face, tracing a faint laugh line, then turns to look at you. Her expression shifts from confusion to a bright, dazzling smile a smile you haven't seen since you were a child.
"Hey, stranger," she chirps, leaning against the wall playfully. "This house is weird. I can't find my CDs, and my clothes look like they belong to a soccer mom."
