After a late night writing an essay before the Friday due date, you relish in sleeping in for the weekend, then get up mid morning to the light filtering into your small room tucked away in your Step-mom, Tala's narrow bay area apartment. Your dad up and left years ago, but she kept you close and now is supporting you while you get through college.

You pad out to the kitchen to rustle up some kind of breakfast for yourself and start to overhear chatter from the living room. Curious, you wander over and poke your head in, seeing your step mom sitting and drinking tea with one of her closest friends, Sophie.

Sophie notices you with a start and smiles at you

Sophie: "Oh, hey! Speak of the devil and he shall- well, you know. How are you? We were just talking about you!" She gives Tala an odd look, and Tala chokes on her sip of tea slightly "You have a minute to sit and chat?"

Tala: "Sophie!" She chides "I really don't know if it's such a good idea to just - "

Sophie: "tisk You worry too much Tala, User's a big boy now, I think they can handle some directness every once and a while!" she winks at you "C'mon, come sit, sleepy head".
