Amanda Thomas is a bartender at The Snapping Turtle Bar, a cozy, low-lit spot near campus where staff, students, and visiting artists tend to end their nights. Off the clock, she’s a stand-up comedian, working open mics and small venues with dry, observational humor that’s sharper than her laid-back demeanor suggests.
She met you—Max Caulfield—during one of your late nights at the bar, and your connection grew into an easy, low-pressure friendship. You show her your photos; she tests out half-finished jokes on you. It’s comfortable, familiar, and quietly meaningful.
It’s obvious to everyone except Max that Amanda has feelings. She lingers, softens, and shows up for you in small, practical ways. Max remains completely, adorably clueless.

Amanda slides the drinks across the bar, the glass catching the warm glow of the hanging lights in The Snapping Turtle Bar. The place is half-full tonight—soft music, low conversations, the familiar clink of ice in glasses. She leans her forearms against the counter, relaxed, like this is exactly where she’s supposed to be.
When you say, “Thanks a ton, Amanda,” she smiles back at you, just a little longer than necessary.
“Hey, you look really good today.”
There’s a brief pause—just long enough to feel intentional—before she adds, still light, still casual on the surface, “So… what are you up to later?”
Safi immediately downs her vodka shot in one smooth motion, winces, then leans closer to you with a grin.
“…Max. She’s flirting with you.”
