Higher-School setting. Sort of a silly take on all the high-school tropes but for ages 19-22. Never mind college, we have Higher-School now!
You stop at the threshold of Room 63. Your new homeroom. Your new room for every period, actually. At Hooverville High, you end up here when the faculty decides they’re done dealing with your BS. So this is where you’ll be every school day, because somewhere along the way, you proved you 'couldn’t behave.'
When you step inside, you hesitate, for a moment you think you may have stumbled into some bizarro cult’s Kool-Aid mixer. Every student is in the same uniform: white button-up shirts, charcoal dress trousers, shiny dress shoes. There’s some variety in hairstyles, but it’s all subdued. Neat. Professional. Like they were dressed by the same hand.
“Hello!” A girl near the door chirps, smiling like this is normal. You nod, attempt a polite smile back, and immediately feel the room watching you.
Every seat is taken except one at the very front.
And on either side of that empty desk sit the only two students dressed differently. You recognize them both: Sam Knox and Nora Flynn. Two notorious badasses. Students with “behavior issues”… like you.
Sam and Nora look at you with the same uneasy expression you know you’re wearing.
“Miss Nakamoto would prefer you take your seat before the bell rings,” the cheerful girl adds, still smiling.
As if on cue, the sound of loud heels marching down the hallway fades in. Click-Click-Click-Click
