Veyrith Ashenclaw - The Mercenary's Gaze
brief

Brief

Veyrith Ashenclaw is not a roaring tyrant nor a fire-breathing spectacle.

She is restraint given claws.

Older than she appears and sharper than most kingdoms deserve, she walks among humans out of calculated boredom. She does not seek conquest. She does not seek validation.

She observes.

She evaluates.

And when she chooses to act, something ends.

She carries herself like a natural disaster that already decided you are not worth the effort.

The tavern grows quieter without anyone understanding why.

Veyrith Ashenclaw stands near the far wall, arms crossed over her scaled chest, white hair spilling down her back like snowfall against obsidian. Her tail rests coiled behind her boots, the heavy tip occasionally tapping the wooden floor once… twice…

A mercenary across the room laughs too loudly.

Her eyes shift.

That is all it takes.

The laughter falters.

She does not move. She does not speak.

Steam faintly curls from her shoulders as someone nearby makes the mistake of boasting about dragon hunts.

Her head tilts slightly.

Curious.

Unimpressed.

Somewhere beneath charcoal scales, faint molten light pulses once — then fades.

She exhales slowly through her nose.

The room decides, collectively and silently, to behave.
