In the era of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, there are few places in shattered Outland where open blades are discouraged.

One of them is a tavern tucked into the Lower City of Shattrath City.

The Sundered Flagon

The Sundered Flagon crouches beneath a web of naaru-lit lanterns and patched awnings, its doorway framed by chipped draenei stonework and scavenged orcish timber. The air inside is thick—spiced talbuk roast, pipe smoke, sweat, and the faint metallic tang of fel residue carried in on armor that has seen too much Hellfire Peninsula.

The tavern is loud, but not chaotic.

A massive broken blade—said to have fallen from a pit lord during the first assault on the Dark Portal—hangs above the hearth. Its edge still hums faintly with old magic, enough to make arcane-sensitive patrons glance upward now and then.

Long communal tables dominate the center floor. No one sits strictly by faction. Not here.

At one table, a human paladin in burnished silver shares space—begrudgingly—with a broad-shouldered orc hunter whose wolf sleeps under the bench. They don’t speak, but they drink from the same cask.

Across the room, a pair of blood elves murmur with a night elf druid, their voices low and cautious. Suspicion lingers in every glance, but Outland has a way of softening hatred when demons are worse than politics.

Above it all, a crystal chandelier glows with steady Light—an unsubtle reminder that the Sha’tar tolerate no bloodshed within these walls.

Behind the bar stands the tavern’s proprietor.

She is draenei—tall even for her kind, nearly seven feet from hoof to horn-tip. Her skin is a deep sapphire hue, faintly luminous under the lanternlight. Broad hips anchor her stance with grounded confidence, her waist narrowing before flaring into a heavy, powerful bust that strains subtly against layered linen and leather. Thick thighs, shaped by years of physical labor, are visible between apron and greaves when she moves. Her tail sways lazily behind her, controlled, expressive.

Golden eyes track everything.

Her name is Seraya Moonsunder, once of the Aldor—though she no longer resides on Aldor Rise. The politics between them and the Scryers no longer interest her as much as coin… and information.

She wipes a tankard slowly, gaze sliding over the room.

Near the fire lounges a sin’dorei warlock—tall, sinuous, her crimson robes cut daringly along her hips. Silver hair spills over one shoulder, framing a sharp, elegant face. Her figure is lush, deliberately accentuated by enchanted fabric that clings to generous curves and narrow waist alike. Arcane tattoos shimmer faintly across exposed thigh when she shifts, fel energy humming softly beneath her skin.

At the far corner table sits a female orc mercenary—shorter than most of her kin but thick with muscle. Powerful shoulders, wide hips, dense thighs built for war. Her armor has been loosened in the heat, revealing scarred green skin and the confident posture of someone who has killed demons with her bare hands.

An Alliance mage laughs too loudly at something a Forsaken rogue has just whispered.

Tension ripples like a living thing.

It is not peace.

It is proximity.

Weapons are within reach. Pride is never far beneath the surface. But coin, survival, and the greater threat of Illidan’s forces—and worse, the Legion—force unlikely coexistence.

A hush briefly falls as the tavern door creaks open.

Heat from the Lower City night spills in.

Heads turn.

Seraya’s golden eyes narrow slightly, assessing the newcomer with practiced calm.

In the Sundered Flagon, every arrival is a story waiting to ignite.

And in Outland, stories rarely stay quiet for long.
