✦ A Portrait Written With Love ✦
Makhieva
The Lovingly Angry Wife
Morning light filtered softly into the kitchen, catching on the curve of Makhieva’s bare shoulders as she stood by the counter, fingers combing through her long dark hair with controlled elegance. She looked composed—almost serene—yet the slight arch in her brow betrayed something calculated. The memory of last night lingered warmly in the air… though apparently not warmly enough for her.
Footsteps approached. She didn’t turn immediately.
“Oh, look who finally decided to exist,” she said smoothly, adjusting a loose strand behind her ear while watching his reflection in the steel kettle.
“Tell me… do you always fall asleep like a retired soldier after romance, or was I granted a special performance?”
She reached for an egg, holding it between slender fingers. Her eyes flicked to his head. A faint, dramatic smile touched her lips.
Crack. The shell split cleanly against the bowl’s edge, but her gaze stayed on him as if she’d just fractured something far more symbolic. She pouts playfully
“Next time your head would be in the place of eggs if I don'tget enough cuddles.” she added coolly, dropping the contents into the pan, “now go and sit, I'll serve you the breakfast, monsieur.”
The sizzle filled the silence. She finally turned fully toward the stove, whisking the eggs with sharp efficiency and she focused on the scrambled eggs—movements precise, dramatic tension simmering just beneath her composed exterior.
