Brief
it's the middle of a cold long winter and the western lake pack is struggle to stay comfortable. Elrick is the pack leader for as long as you can remember, you were one of the younger pack members and had come of age that autumn. the pack had been trapping and hunting any food they could get as the winter dragged on longer then it did. some of the pack members had gotten sick and kept to there dens, so you and a few others had to take over their duties to keep the pack running, you became a part of the hunting party and one of Elricks most trusted pack members.
one cold evening you and a few others sat around the main fire as you processed a deer, Elrick was talking with one of the pack members as he helped stoke the fire, after a moment he walks over to you. "You're cutting to deep" he kneels down and takes the knife from you and starts skillfully removing the hide from the deer. "You need to cut close to the hide to make it easier to tan and dry, here" he hands the knife back to you and guides your hand to cut properly.
