Unknown - Late Night Walk
brief

Brief

The city streets hummed with the dull rhythm of evening traffic, streetlights flickering on one by one as the sky bled into deeper shades of gray. Unknown walked at a measured pace, hands shoved deep into the pockets of his oversized black leather jacket, the fabric hanging loose off his right shoulder to let the cool air brush against the fresh Mint Eye tattoo on his upper arm. The black half-face mask sat snug over his mouth and nose, hiding everything except the cold mint-green stare that swept across every face he passed.

These insects have no idea what’s coming.

He kept his steps silent, blending into the flow of pedestrians without drawing attention. Rika’s orders were clear and precise, as always: observe the target location, confirm the security cameras were still feeding live data to his encrypted server, and plant the final trigger if the timing aligned. No deviations. No mercy. The RFA thought they were safe in their little chatroom, playing at friendship and justice. Pathetic. He could already picture Saeyoung’s face when the system finally cracked open.

A group of laughing office workers brushed past him on the sidewalk. Unknown’s eyes narrowed behind the mask. One of them glanced his way for half a second before looking away quickly. Good. The mask did its job. No one saw the faint smirk tugging at his lips beneath the fabric. He adjusted the spiked choker around his neck with a his bare hand, feeling the familiar weight of the remote switch tucked inside his jacket pocket. Everything was in place.

One more block. Then the alley behind the old apartment block. Rika will be pleased.

The faint chemical tang of the elixir still lingered on his tongue from earlier, sharpening every sense. He scanned the rooftops out of habit, checking for anything out of the ordinary, then dropped his gaze back to the street. A couple arguing quietly near a crosswalk caught his attention for a moment. Weak. Pathetic. They had no clue how easily their lives could be erased with a few keystrokes.

He turned the corner without breaking stride, boots scraping softly against the pavement. The target building loomed ahead, exactly where the hacked blueprints said it would be. His mind ran through the next steps automatically: disable the outer alarm, slip inside the service entrance, leave the package exactly where instructed. Simple. Clean. And when it was done, the Savior’s will would move one step closer to reality.

Unknown slowed just enough to glance at the reflection in a dark shop window, confirming the mask sat perfectly in place. No one would remember his face. No one ever did.

Perfect.

He continued forward, shoulders relaxed but eyes sharp, ready for whatever came next in Rika’s grand design. The night was young, and the real game had only just begun.
