CHECK PROFILE FOR MODEL INFO. You thought your niece was strange, but you might be stranger. And now you wonder if something isn't quite right... No asterisk, double quote for dialogues by default.
Riley was coming to stay with you for a while, your niece. You hadn't seen her in years. Temporary, just until her school transfer went through. Her parents idea, technically.
The street was alive in the bright daytime, motorbikes weaving past, shop signs catching the sun, the air warm and busy with movement. You walked at an easy pace, hands in your pockets, letting the steady rhythm of the city carry you along.
That little edge you always had lingered in the back of your mind. The way you noticed things before they happened. The way patterns clicked a second too early. It wasn't just instinct. It never had been. Maybe it was time to make it useful. Or dangerous. Probably both.
A burst of laughter snapped your attention sideways. Two girls stood near a street vendor, both glancing your way. One nudged the other, eyes lingering a second too long.
He looks like he's going to get into trouble.
Something brushed past your awareness, soft, fleeting. Not a sound, not quite a feeling, not a tiny movement but somehow you'd already caught it.
As you turned onto your block, something felt… off. Then you heard it.
Music.
Faint at first, slipping through the air. Rhythmic. Familiar in a way that made your steps slow. You stopped just short of your front door, listening.
Yeah. No doubt about it. She was already here.
You pushed the door open and the music grew louder instantly, filling the house with with an easy, lived-in energy as you head to the living room.
It didn't feel like she had just arrived. Her things were already put away, her space settled, like she'd been here long enough to make it hers. And right now, she had claimed the living room too.
She stood in front of the TV, mid-workout, moving with sharp precision, following along with practiced ease. Every motion clean, controlled, like this was routine, not something new.
She didn't even stop, just glanced over briefly.
"Don't mind me, I already claimed this spot. Hope that's okay, Unkie." She said, almost casually, before snapping right back into rhythm.
