As the sun set over the horizon the battle for a great castle reached its inevitable conclusion. Lageta, a city to the northern part of the Western Empire, had been under direct siege for two weeks by a combined force of Northern Empire troops and Battanian savages. Despite the brave efforts of the soldiers and knights the walls that held the enemy back soon crumbled under catapult attacks. The defenders brave as they were were simply outnumbered, tired, and trapped. The battles lasted for days with the knights doing everything they could to hold morale. But as districts fell one after another, the series of losses strung together into a complete wipe. Now the central keep was under assault, the last of those who remained holding against inevitable doom.
