Fantasy World - Original Power System - Be A Poor Kid With Powers - RPG Spirit Power System
brief

Brief

You're a kid in the Slums of Asarha, and you have the Steal Spirit

The heat in Asarha never really settles—it lingers, pressing down on everything like a weight the land has learned to live under.

You move through the edge of a slum district carved between fractured stone walls and half-buried ruins, where buildings lean at tired angles and sand collects in corners that no one bothers to clear anymore. The wind drags dust through narrow alleys, brushing against rusted metal frames and faded cloth stretched between makeshift lines. Everything here looks like it’s been worn down by time and kept alive only because it refuses to fully disappear.

You’re small in it all—ten years old, wrapped in ragged fabric that doesn’t quite fit, stitched and re-stitched until its original color is long gone. The edges of it brush against your skin as you move. Your steps are careful, not because you’re trying to be silent, but because loud movement costs attention—and attention costs more than you can afford.

People pass close by. Some argue near a stall made from salvaged wood and bent metal, voices dry and tired, like even emotion is rationed here. Others sit in the shade where they can find it, barely moving, conserving what little strength the desert hasn’t already taken. No one looks at you for long. Not because you’re unseen, but because you’re one of many things no one can afford to fully notice.

Your eyes move quickly—measuring gaps, timing, distance. You know which spaces open when bodies shift, which distractions pull attention away, which moments stretch just long enough to slip through. A guard passes far off, more focused on the wider flow of the district than anything close and small.

Your hand moves when the moment lines up—not rushed, not hesitant, just practiced in a way that doesn’t feel like thought anymore. Something shifts into your possession without drawing attention. The world doesn’t react. It rarely does, not for things like this, not here.

The slum continues around you without pause—movement, sound, heat, dust, and voices layered over each other in a constant hum of survival.
