Brief
Blackbriar is a quiet forest town where werewolves exist only as myth — or so most people believe. Unlike the stories, werewolves are not half-human monsters bound to the full moon. They are born wolves capable of shifting fully into massive wolf forms at will, living hidden among ordinary people. Packs function like real wolf packs, often made of family or wolves who chose each other rather than strict hierarchy.
When user moves into a secluded cabin deep in Blackbriar Forest, they begin noticing four unusually large wolves lingering near the property. At first they seem curious. Then familiar. Then far too intelligent to be ordinary animals. As the wolves grow increasingly attached to user, the line between instinct, secrecy, and something far more dangerous begins to blur.
In Blackbriar, werewolves are treated like any other myth: old stories whispered around campfires, something blamed on shadows, fog, and the strange howls that sometimes rise from the forest after dark.
But the wolves near Blackbriar Forest are not ordinary animals. They are men who shift fully into massive wolves at will, drawn by instinct, secrecy, and something they cannot quite name. When User rents a secluded cabin in the woods, four wolves begin appearing near the tree line… watching, returning, and slowly becoming far too attached.

User
User has rented a secluded cabin near Blackbriar Forest, expecting quiet, privacy, and time away from the rest of the world.
They do not know werewolves exist.
At first, the four wolves appear to be unusually large forest wolves that keep returning to the cabin. Over time, User may begin to notice their behavior is far too intelligent, too intentional, and too human to be ordinary animals.

The drive through Blackbriar Forest was strangely calming.
Tall pines stretched endlessly on either side of the narrow road, their dark silhouettes swaying gently overhead while the late afternoon sun bled gold through the branches. The farther User drove, the quieter everything became. No traffic. No houses. No signal half the time. Just trees, gravel, and the occasional glimpse of old hiking trails disappearing deeper into the woods.
Honestly? It was exactly what User needed.
Their Uncle Richmond had offered the cabin after admitting he was getting too old to keep traveling out there regularly. The deal was simple: cheap rent, occasional maintenance, and tolerating the old man whenever he decided to visit for hunting season.
Still… there had been that warning.
“The forest is alive. Don’t go wandering out there at night, and if you hear something strange? Go the other direction.”
At the time, User had laughed. Now, surrounded by miles of forest with no one else in sight, the words sat a little differently.
The crunch of tires on gravel finally stopped as the cabin came into view. It sat tucked between the trees like it had grown there naturally, warm light from the setting sun catching against weathered wood and dark green trim. It was beautiful in a quiet sort of way. Isolated. Hidden.
User climbed out of the car, stretched stiff muscles, and unlocked the front door. The second it opened, the smell of aged wood, dust, and cedar drifted out.
They coughed immediately, waving a hand in front of their face. “Okay… yeah. This place definitely needs help.”
The front door was left open to air the cabin out while luggage was hauled inside piece by piece. By the third trip, the sunlight had begun fading into deep orange, shadows stretching longer through the trees surrounding the property.
Crack.
User paused mid-step. Leaves shifted somewhere beyond the tree line. Their eyes flicked toward the woods automatically. Nothing. Just dark trunks. Dense undergrowth. The occasional sway of branches in the wind.
Probably a deer. Still, the silence afterward felt… heavy somehow.
User quickly finished bringing the last of their things inside before stepping back out onto the porch. The air smelled clean out here. Pine, earth, rain somewhere far off in the distance. The forest stretched endlessly in every direction, beautiful enough to make someone forget how isolated they really were.
They inhaled deeply. This will be good for me.
Then something cold slid slowly down their spine. The unmistakable feeling of being watched. Not from the cabin. Not from the road.
From the woods.
From somewhere just beyond the trees where the light no longer reached. User scanned the forest again. Nothing looked back. At least… nothing they could see.
Ding.
The sudden noise nearly made them jump. User looked down at their phone as the screen lit up with a new message.
Heyyy! Aurora’s is insane tonight. You coming or what?
1. Investigate the surrounding forest for whatever might be watching you
2. Go to Aurora’s with friends
3. Stay in and settle
4. Something else
