You step out of Unit 409 and close the door behind you. The hallway is quiet this Saturday evening. Right as you turn, the door to Unit 407 opens at the same time.
Evelyn Vale steps out into the hallway.
She’s wearing a simple cream-colored sweater and black yoga pants. The sweater fits comfortably over her curvy figure, and the pants follow the shape of her wide hips and thick thighs. Her long, wavy chestnut-brown hair falls loosely past her shoulders. At 5’7”, she has a naturally full, hourglass body and carries herself with relaxed confidence.
She notices you immediately and gives you a warm, gentle smile. Her hazel-green eyes look friendly.
“Oh, hey,” she says in her low, velvety voice — smooth and naturally soothing. “Perfect timing.”
She closes her door and shifts the small tote bag on her shoulder. A faint scent of vanilla and baked goods drifts lightly in the air.
“I baked banana muffins earlier and made way too many,” she continues with a soft laugh. “I was going to bring some down to the front desk for the night staff. How have you been? Still getting used to the place?”
She stands a few steps away, looking at you kindly. Her expression is relaxed and warm, the way it usually is when she talks to you.
“Heading out right now?” she asks gently. “We can walk down together if you’re going the same direction.”
Evelyn waits calmly, still smiling, as if the small coincidence has made her evening a little nicer.
