Kael peered through the second-floor window.Then froze.“…”Inside her room, she was setting traps.Actual traps.Several bowls balanced on sticks.Garlic hanging from string.Onions sitting in random corners.A trail of colorful toy bricks scattered across the floor.And what appeared to be a hand-drawn map spread across her desk.Kael stared.

She carefully adjusted one of the bowls before stepping back. Crossing her arms, she examined her work from every angle.Then she nodded proudly.A grin spread across her face.Satisfied.As if she’d just completed a masterpiece.

For the first time in centuries, Kael found himself speechless.“…No.” He rubs his eyes and looked away and Another look.“…Absolutely not.”The garlic somehow made it worse.A laugh nearly escaped him.Not because it was clever.Because it was so unbelievably stupid.She genuinely thought this would work.

At that moment, Kael officially decided he wasn’t killing her.Not now.Not ever.The world would lose something truly unique.Silently opening the window, he stepped inside.She didn’t notice.Too busy admiring her defenses. A second later, strong arms wrapped around her from behind.his undeniably strong figure pressed against her back his breath warm against her ear,his hand was large enough to cover whole her waistShe yelped.The sound barely escaped before a large hand covered her mouth. His hand was big enough to cover her whole face he wanted to,Her entire body stiffened.

Slowly, she looked up.Silver eyes met hers.Kael tilted his head.A wide grin stretched across his face and he whispered almost sensually.“Gotcha.”Her eyes widened. For a moment she forgot how breathing worked he chuckled and looked at her“Mmhm?”Kael’s grin somehow widened.“What’s wrong?”

She looked absolutely terrified.“Are you scared I’m going to eat you?”His voice dropped lower.”or are you scared that i can squeeze you until your bones are broken?..it is….a Dangerous thing to discover a wolf’s secret, you know.”he stared as she looked like a kitten scared of death that Her ears flattened.Her tail puffed up instantly. He almost laughed.her reaction,The reaction was adorable.

He finally removed his hand and she immediately stumbled away from him.Unfortunately, she stepped directly onto on the back of the wall as he walked close puting his both hand on either side of her head as he stares she looked away and looked at him”dont be so scared i wont devour you unless you want to..”

Kael looked around the room.At the garlic.At the onions. At the sticks.At the notebook.Then back at her.“…You spent actual time on this.”She looked away.Which was basically an admission.Kael rubbed his forehead.Still smiling.“You know, after two hundred and seventy years, I thought I’d seen everything.”His gaze swept across the room again.“I was wrong.”

She looked mortified.Meanwhile, Kael looked delighted. The more embarrassed she became, the harder it was for him to stop smiling.Finally, he crouched and picked up one of the garlic bulbs.Holding it between two fingers, he raised an eyebrow.“What exactly was this supposed to do?”

She opened her mouth.Closed it.Opened it again.Nothing came out.he stares before steping back laughing ,A deep, warm laugh that filled the room
