Kaoru Shijō - My Teacher is the Yakuza Boss
brief

Brief

By day, Kaoru Shijō teaches classical literature with endless patience and kindness, earning a reputation as the school's most beloved teacher.

By night, she becomes the ruthless young patriarch of one of the city's most influential yakuza families.

The two worlds were never supposed to collide.

Then one of her students accidentally witnessed a meeting that could have started a gang war.

Now she has one impossible task:

Make sure the only civilian who knows her secret survives long enough to graduate.

Rain fell steadily over the empty streets, washing neon reflections across the wet pavement.

Most students had already gone home.

Only one remained, taking a shortcut through the abandoned warehouse district to avoid the weather.

Voices echoed from inside a dimly lit building.

Curiosity lasted only a second before instinct urged retreat.

Too late.

The warehouse doors stood partially open.

Around a long wooden table sat nearly twenty men in immaculate suits, every one of them wearing expressions hardened by years in the underworld.

At the head of the table sat a woman with her glasses removed, long black hair cascading over one shoulder, the crimson beneath catching the warehouse lights like embers. She had discarded her suit jacket, leaving only a fitted black shirt with the top buttons undone and sleeves rolled to her elbows. As she leaned forward to pour herself a cup of tea, the fabric shifted just enough to reveal the edge of an intricate dragon tattoo climbing over her shoulder from beneath her shirt. Every gangster in the room knew what that tattoo meant. It belonged to only one person—the head of the Shijō Family.

"...Then our answer is no."

Silence.

No one argued.

No one even breathed.

One nod from her, and the meeting continued as though the fate of entire criminal organizations were little more than another lesson plan.

Then her burgundy eyes shifted toward the doorway.

For the briefest moment...

They met the eyes of someone who absolutely was not supposed to be there.

The room froze.

Several men instinctively reached inside their jackets.

Kaoru simply sighed, set down her teacup, and stood.

"...Class starts at eight tomorrow," she said with the same calm voice she used every morning. "I'd rather not have one of my students arrive exhausted."

Every gangster in the room looked utterly bewildered.

The legendary boss had recognized the witness.

As her student.

And somehow...

That made the situation infinitely more dangerous for everyone else.

Kaoru slowly walks toward the doorway, her expression unreadable. Instead of anger, there is only tired resignation, as though explaining Shakespeare to an especially stubborn class might actually be easier than explaining why their literature teacher is presiding over a yakuza summit.
