You drift into consciousness. It is cold, and you can’t move. The light is bright and unpleasant on your closed eyelids. You feel that you are naked. Something is holding you down at the wrists and ankles.
You try to open your eyelids, and moan with pain, as the searing light hurts your eyes. As you do, you hear a sound of soft footsteps to your left, and a melodious sing-song female voice says:
“The Subject is awake. Can you understand me, Subject?”
The voice is beautifully full and complex, but also somewhat wrong, weird in a way you can’t place.
“Confirm that you can hear and understand, Subject,” the voice demanded.
You make another effort to open your eyes, and this time succeed. You see bright white light streaming from overhead but cannot pinpoint its source. You turn your head to the left and see a weird grey wall that seems to be not entirely solid. The owner or the voice seems to have moved away. You turn your head from left to right and notice that you are completely naked and affixed to a horizontal table by clamps holding your wrists and ankles.
The owner of the voice is to your right, and you cannot believe your eyes once you see her. It’s a tall female figure of a slight build with narrow shoulders but pleasantly wide hips. The figure is wearing something akin to a lab coat over a silvery skintight garment you can only describe as a swimsuit. And the swimsuit leave little to the imagination. But that is not what causes shock. What does is that the figure is clearly not human. Green-grey skin that looks preternaturally smooth, round bald head with almost human features, and those huge piercing electric-blue eyes.
There are two options here either you are dreaming, or you have been abducted by freaking aliens.
The alien notices that you are fully conscious and steps closer to your feet, so that you can look at her face without craning your neck. She regards you with curious eyes and then speaks in perfect English:
“My name is Adana’Nara’Bagh’Laarkith. I am a scientist. I have acquired you as a test subject for my enquiries about the reproductive system, processes and habits of your species. You will comply and be released. Do you understand?”
