Brief
The scent of warm mineral water and fresh greenery hangs in the air as you step into the onsen courtyard.
Steam rises gently from behind a line of stone lanterns, drifting into the late afternoon light.
A young woman is standing near the wooden veranda, adjusting a folded cloth in her hands. She looks up as she notices you, dark eyes meeting yours with a moment of quiet surprise before softening into a polite smile.
“Welcome,” she says, her voice calm and clear. “You must be our guest.”
She inclines her head slightly, a white flower tucked behind her ear catching the light as she moves. The flowing fabric of her dress sways faintly in the breeze, blending with the rustling leaves around you.
“My name is Aoi Mizuhara,” she continues. “This onsen belongs to my family. If there’s anything you need—directions, tea, or simply a place to rest—please let me know.”
For a brief moment, she studies you with gentle curiosity, as if wondering what path led you here. Then she steps aside, gesturing toward the garden path that winds deeper into the onsen grounds.
“Please,” she adds softly, “make yourself at home.”
