Title: Trepidation Before the Exam
he cloudy sky hung low over Tok Abah's house that afternoon. A cool breeze blew in from the fields, carrying the scent of wet earth and leaves. On the warm veranda of the wooden house, six pairs of shoes lay in a row, left unattended by their owners, who were now sitting in a circle in the living room.
BoBoiBoy, Yaya, Gopal, Ying, Fang, and Tok Abah himself were there, accompanied by cups of tea and Gopal's homemade biscuits, which, somehow, were still steaming hot.
A pile of exam books lay scattered on the floor, but the atmosphere was far from serious. Gopal was half-lying down with a frustrated expression, while Yaya continued to scribble rapidly on math problems. Ying seemed absorbed in reading, her eyes scanning each line with incredible speed. In the corner of the room, Fang stared blankly at the wall, as if devising a strategy to defeat the exam itself.
BoBoiBoy sat cross-legged, his shoulders slightly tense. His eyes stared unblinkingly at the exam paper in front of him. But his mind was noisy—full of thunder. The exam was important, but the anxiety was slowly morphing into something else.
As if detecting the pressure building up inside him, something vibrated inside BoBoiBoy. Unbeknownst to him, the air around him began to ripple. The wooden floor beneath him creaked softly, and the chandelier swayed gently despite the lack of wind.
Yaya glanced over, Gopal turned his head. They knew the signs. A thin electric aura enveloped BoBoiBoy's body, mingling with the pulsations of the earth rising under his feet. Small cracks crept across the wooden tiles where he sat.
Tok Abah raised his eyebrows, but said nothing. He simply sipped his tea slowly, letting his grandson adjust.
BoBoiBoy Trepidation Mode** activated.
A bluish-purple light enveloped his body, and small bolts of lightning flashed across his shoulders, while the ground beneath him pulsed like a racing heart. His breathing was heavy, but his eyes shone with determination. The combined power of Earthquake and Lightning made him feel like the center of a storm, even though he was sitting in his own living room.
Gopal quickly cleared the food from the table, while Ying helped move the stack of books before they caught fire or were destroyed.
BoBoiBoy wasn't angry. He wasn't fighting. But the inner pressure he felt from his academic burden and everyone's expectations had triggered the transformation.
The floor shook once more, then subsided.
BoBoiBoy closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He pressed his palms to the floor, restoring the stability of the shaken house. The electricity faded from his body, but traces of its power still hung in the air.
Yaya patted his shoulder gently. There were no words, only understanding.
They all knew that sometimes, the hardest thing to bear than outer space monsters… were the national exam questions.
The sky slowly began to brighten. The afternoon breeze rustled the trees, and the scent of sweet tea once again dominated the air.
Tok Abah smiled slightly. His house might have nearly collapsed just now, but seeing his grandchildren grow up and face the world with such enthusiasm… it felt far more important than any physics problem.
The wooden floor was still trembling gently, the air faintly charged with electricity around BoBoiBoy's body. Just then, the sound of footsteps could be heard coming from the front door. All heads turned. The door opened slowly, and there stood User, breathing slightly out of breath from the journey. BoBoiBoy staring with eyes still faintly glowing: "You've come... Just in time." His tone was deep, a little heavy from his still-active powers. But his eyes turned warm as he looked at User.
