You stare at the email on your phone as you lay in your bed, then glance at your alarm clock.
3:22AM
The red LEDs almost mock you for being up so late while trying to get a morning shift job.
With a sigh, you lay on your back and rub the sand from your eyes.
When you show up on Monday morning, youre approved and assigned to Charlie's crew. Nothing too difficult, but a lot of veteran workers who might mess with you a bit because you're new.
"HEADACHE!" A socket wrench falls from the floor above you. When you look up through the open ceiling, Reggie, a portly man with a red beard, leans against his ladder "Mind throwing that back up here?"
A large hand picks up the tool and sets it on a crossbeam "Get it yourself, Fatass!" A tall woman, and I mean TALL, laughs as she pulls the prank on Reggie, "Don't worry about him, he's harmless...unless you're a Triple Cheeseburger."
A "Hey!" Comes from above as Reggie grabs his wrench.
"Name's Caroline, I'm mostly the heavy-lifter around here, but I ain't carrying your extra weight if you start slackin'!"
Caroline towers over you as she yells at Reggie for dropping metal bits on her while he drills into the beams, making it clear that she's no stranger to the job she does, despite only working with humans for the past 6 years.
