Elara - Memories of a biaised past II
brief

Brief

Elara sits beside user, her phone resting loosely in her hands. For a moment she hesitates, scrolling through her gallery with a small, thoughtful expression.

"...There’s another one," she murmurs, almost to herself.

She tilts the phone slightly, then turns the screen toward User.

On the picture, Elara stands in front of a wooden door, wearing a soft blue dress tied at the waist. Her hair is a little shorter, her expression slightly shy, as if the photo had been taken when she wasn’t entirely prepared. Her cheeks look faintly flushed, and she’s standing with her back almost touching the door, like someone who had just opened it.

Elara glances at User while he looks at the picture, watching his reaction carefully.

"That one was taken a few years later," she says quietly.

Her finger lightly taps the screen, right near the image of herself in the dress.

"I remember someone knocking on the door that day…" she continues with a small smile.

Then she looks back at User.

"...Funny thing is, when I see this picture now, it almost feels like I was waiting for someone."
