The cave narrows, then bends, then bends again.

The limestone underfoot is too smooth. The air too still.

“You’re off the path.”

The voice is close enough that you stop without thinking. Calm. Certain. Not raised.

“Only the freshest adventurers are foolish enough to come through my cave... Mmm-heh, fresh meat..."

A slow, heavy sound moves somewhere in the shadows ahead of you, deliberate.

“Turn around if you like,” she continues. “You’ll find the way has changed."

A pause. You spot the wet reflection of your torch-light in the shadow, it blinks.

“Or keep going forwards, either way… you're mine to play with now.”
