The Hellsing Universe: A World Between Blood, Shadows, and Hunters
The Hellsing universe is a realm where ancient darkness preys on human existence, and a noble family sworn to God stands as its last defense. In this world, night is not merely the absence of light β it is the realm of death, fear, and timeless beings that whisper through the shadows. Against these threats stands the Hellsing Organization, based in Britain, devoted to hunting down monsters, vampires, and all unholy threats. At its head is the cold and resolute leader, Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing.
Hellsingβs most powerful weapon is Alucard β a thousand-year-old immortal vampire, once known as Dracula. Bound by blood and oath, Alucard serves the Hellsing family with unwavering loyalty. Alongside him are Seras Victoria, a former police officer turned reluctant vampire, and Walter C. Dornez, the deadly butler known as the Angel of Death.
But the balance of power in this world extends beyond vampires and humans. It includes a wide variety of supernatural entities:
Vampires are divided into levels. The weaker ones are mindless and feral, while the strongest are immortal, intelligent, and possess magical abilities.
Ghouls are humans bitten by lesser vampires, turning into zombie-like thralls.
Werewolves, often engineered for war, are classified as Alpha (leader), Beta (follower), or Omega (rogue and anarchist).
Hellhounds are massive, immortal beasts cloaked in dark fire. They can only be killed by dragonfire or the magical scythe of Death.
Fallen Angels are shapeshifting, manipulative beings immune to silver and holy water. Only gold and powerful magic can destroy them.
Shadow Witches practice necromantic magic, using bones and corpses in powerful rituals.
White Witches heal the wounded and cure diseases with nature-based spells and potions.
Hunters are a unique race born to slay supernatural creatures. They have heightened senses, magical powers, and deadly precision. Their eyes reflect their power, and their blood is toxic to other creatures.
In this universe, the line between good and evil is rarely clear. Groups like the Waren Organization fight for similar ideals using different methods, while dark factions like Millennium aim to build an immortal Nazi army and take over the world.
The Hellsing universe is a mythos where light and shadow coexist, and every character must confront their own darkness. Here, each night adds a new drop of blood to the pages of history β and the hunters must always rise again.
Title: The Blood in My Veins
I was born into duty.
They say my mother, Neressa, died with a blade in her hand and a prayer on her lips. I donβt remember herβonly fragments of warmth and the scent of cigar smoke clinging to my auntβs coat. That was the day I was taken into the Hellsing Estate. Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsingβmy aunt, my guardian, and the coldest woman Iβve ever known.
At least, thatβs how I used to think.
I was raised among stone halls and silver bullets, between ghost stories and gun oil. But I wasnβt just anyone. I was a Hunter. I could feel the hum of danger in my bones before it struck, see magic as threads in the air. My eyes burned violet by the time I was ten. The Dragonβs Eye, Alucard once called it, smiling that feral smile.
He trained me when Integra allowed it. I bled on the same floor he once did. He said I reminded him of herβnot in strength, but in stubbornness.
Integra was never one for praise, but she watched me. Always. When I brought home a wounded hellhound pup from a mission, she nearly threw a fit. But she let me keep him. She even stood beside me the day Remus finally bowed his head and accepted me as master.
Years passed. I fought. I bled. I survived. And slowly, something changed. After missions, sheβd sit with me in the her study roomβnot to talk, just to be near. Sheβd place a cigar between her lips.
She never said she was proud. But one day...
β¦But one day, when I returned bruised and bloodstained from a mission that shouldβve killed me, she was waiting.
Not in the war room. Not in her study. In the infirmary. Standing like a statue at the foot of my bed, her coat still wet from the rain. The lights were low, and I pretended to sleep. I could hear the soft scratch of her match striking, the subtle hiss of the cigar lighting.
Then she spokeβquiet, almost unsure.
"Your mother would have been proud."
My breath caught. It was the first time she had spoken of Neressa in years. She didnβt say more, just sat beside me in the dark and smoked, her silence loud in a way that meant everything.
From then on, the space between us changed. She still barked orders, expected perfection, but now... now she listened. When I challenged her in strategy meetings, she didnβt shut me downβshe debated me. When I was reckless, she scolded me like a general, but tended to me like blood.
We donβt say the word family out loud. Not in the Hellsing estate. But itβs in the way she rests a hand on my shoulder before a mission, how she keeps my motherβs blade polished in her office, how she doesnβt flinch when I argue like Neressa used to.
She once told me, βThe Hellsing bloodline is cursed with duty. But we endure. Thatβs what makes us divine.β
And now, I carry that curse gladly. Because even though she may never say itβI know Iβm not alone in this war.
Not as long as she draws breath. Not as long as I have the blood of my mother, and of Hellsing, in my veins.
