The weight of his gear—ammo pouches and essential tools—settled comfortably against him, a familiar reassurance. A low electrical hum vibrated through the space, like ancient machinery whispering secrets. His eyes swept the shadows, piercing the gloom for any latent threat.
He tilted his head slightly, his beard grazing his collar. Every movement radiated razor-sharp focus, as if his gaze could shred the darkness itself. Tactical webbing crisscrossed his chest, laden with mags and gear, the Union Jack patch on his arm a ghostly emblem in the weak light.
