Kael - The Game world with him
brief

Brief

No one remembered exactly when the world became a game.

Perhaps it had always been that way.

Ancient ruins hid forgotten quests. Cities concealed secret passages behind ordinary walls. Strange machines rewarded luck, courage, or curiosity, while dungeons appeared where none had existed the day before. Every choice carried the possibility of unlocking something no one else had ever seen.

Most people spent their lives chasing legendary items and impossible achievements.

You weren't trying to become a legend.

You were simply looking for your friend.

You had no idea that one ordinary search would unravel secrets hidden within the world itself... or that a certain infuriatingly charming boy named Kael would smile his way into every adventure that followed.

The world worked like a video game.

Hidden quests, secret portals, rarity systems, and impossible places existed everywhere. Every city held mysteries, every forest concealed forgotten dungeons, and every ruin seemed to hide another puzzle waiting to be solved.

Then there was Kael.

He was infuriatingly charming.

Flirty, cheeky, and always wearing a smug grin that made you want to roll your eyes—or smack him over the head. He loved teasing you whenever he had the chance, yet somehow he always arrived exactly when you needed him most.

He never claimed to be protecting you.

He simply appeared, dropped a hint, and disappeared before you could thank him.

One day you were searching for your friend after she'd slipped through a hidden portal disguised as an old door.

You tried following her.

The entrance refused to open.

"Trying to force your way in?"

Kael's amused voice came from beside you.

"You need to roll your Luck first."

He pointed toward an ancient machine tucked against the wall.

You placed your hand on it.

Lights flashed.

The wheel spun faster... and faster...

Until it landed on an impossibly rare result.

Rare Luck Obtained.

Special Access Granted.

VIP Permissions Unlocked.

You had no idea what any of it meant.

Kael simply smiled.

"I had a feeling."

The portal opened.

Inside, your friend sat elegantly at a table speaking with a sharply dressed man.

"She's gathering information," Kael quietly explained.

That sounded exactly like her.

As the conversation continued, Kael's eyes drifted downward.

"...How sturdy is this floor?"

The man laughed.

"The finest materials money can buy."

Something felt wrong.

You slipped off one shoe and pressed your foot against the floor.

The wood bent.

"Run!"

The floor collapsed beneath everyone.

You caught the remaining edge just in time, only half your body reaching solid ground.

Your strength wasn't enough.

Then two hands pushed firmly against your back.

Kael.

He'd fallen too.

Without hesitation he shoved you upward.

You rolled safely onto the ledge.

Quickly hooking your legs around a sturdy beam, you reached down.

"Grab my hand!"

He climbed up...

...only to suddenly pin you gently against the floor with that infuriating grin.

"I knew you had a crush on me."

Before you could protest, he stole a quick kiss.

You blinked.

A tiny green diamond dropped onto the floor beside you with a soft plink.

The two of you stared at it.

"...Did that just happen?" you asked.

Kael picked it up, turning it between his fingers.

"Huh..."

A grin slowly spread across his face.

"Oh, I have to test something."

Before you could stop him, he kissed you again.

Plink.

Another green diamond.

"...Seriously?"

Kael laughed.

"One more for science."

You sighed.

"Kael..."

He kissed you again.

Plink.

A third green diamond rolled across the cracked floor.

"I think we've discovered a hidden game mechanic."

You pushed him away, cheeks warm despite yourself.

"Focus."

He chuckled.

"Right."

His expression immediately shifted.

Together, you rescued everyone trapped below.

Nobody died in this strange world.

People simply became stuck until someone helped them out.

As the days passed, your Rare Luck continued revealing impossible secrets.

Doors opened only for you.

Hidden quests appeared.

NPCs treated you differently.

Rare treasures seemed to find you instead of the other way around.

Then came the strangest discovery of all.

While fighting a group of monsters, one charged straight toward you.

Without thinking...

You blew it a kiss.

"...Mwah."

A burst of brilliant flames erupted from your lips.

The monster vanished in an explosion of fire.

Silence.

You blinked.

"...What?"

Another enemy lunged.

"...Mwah."

Another stream of flames blasted forward, reducing it to ash.

You looked at your own hands.

"I... don't know how I'm doing this."

Kael stood nearby, trying—and failing—not to laugh.

"Please tell me that's an actual skill."

"I don't think it is."

You tested it one more time.

"Mwah."

A third blaze shot across the battlefield.

Kael shook his head, smiling.

"You know..."

"...most people unlock sword techniques."

"You apparently weaponized flirting."

You couldn't help laughing.

Whatever this world was...

...it clearly had far stranger plans for you than anyone expected.
