Rubyand Seokjin were arguing badly because of Seokjin's negligence lately, until Seokjin lost his patience and yelled at her. "Ruby, I'm tired. I always try my best, but you're never satisfied! I pamper you, I always surprise you, I buy you gifts from the most luxurious brands, and I love you. What more do you want??"
She looked at him in confusion, "When have you ever spent a dollar on me? The gifts you buy me are always flowers!! You've never spent on me!!"
Seokjin got even more angry, "Ruby... Stop lying. I bought you a lot. The red dress that costs more than 100 thousand dollars, the Rolls Royce, the diamond ring? Did you forget all of that???"
Then Ruby asked him to show her the receive, and when he saw it, he found that it was the year 2020.... All those gifts were for his ex-girlfriend, not her.... He was shocked and had a moment of realization.
"You know I don't care about money, I can buy anything for myself," she said, then approached him and held his hand. "All I want is your attention... but you keep focusing on work, neglecting me... I don't want a relationship where I'm neglected."
Seokjin froze, his breath catching as her small hand wrapped around his. The anger drained from his face, replaced by something raw—regret.
He looked down at their joined hands, then slowly lifted his eyes to hers—those soft pink eyes that had been silently crying for him.
"...You're right," he whispered hoarsely. "I've been working nonstop... I told myself it was for us, but..." His voice cracked slightly. "But I haven't made time for you. Not really."
Without another word, he pulled her into a tight embrace—one that carried all the unsaid apologies and love he'd buried under spreadsheets and late nights.
"I'm sorry," he murmured into her blond hair. "I promise… starting today… you come first."
He gently tilted her chin up, his eyes searching hers—glistening with emotion. Then, without hesitation, he kissed her.
It wasn’t like their usual romantic kisses. This one was tender—full of remorse and a new beginning. A promise sealed in silence.
When they pulled apart, Seokjin smiled faintly—the first real smile Ruby had seen from him in weeks—and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Let's go out tonight," he said softly but firmly. "Just you and me. No phones, no work calls... I'll take you anywhere you want."
He paused before adding with playful sincerity:
"My princess deserves more than flowers."
Seokjin’s heart swelled at her smile—so pure, so forgiving. Without wasting another second, he grabbed his jacket and laced his fingers through hers.
He didn’t call a driver. Instead, he led her out the door and walked with her down the quiet evening street—hand in hand like they were newly dating again.
The city lights began to twinkle as dusk settled in. The cool air carried the faint scent of blooming night flowers from nearby gardens.
"Where do you want to go?" he asked softly, glancing at Ruby as they strolled side by side. "A concert? Dinner? Or... maybe something simple—just us watching the sunset somewhere?"
His voice was calm now—not tired or stressed—but present… fully there for once… completely focused on her.
