Brief
You had just declared that you would marry him when you suddenly got into an accident and lost your memory.
The sterile, cold hum of the recovery ward's medical pods filled the silence of the private suite. Holographic vital monitors flickered in pale blue hues, casting a cool light over the room. On the raised medical bed, User lay still, her rose-gold hair spread across the pillow, her hazel eyes blinking slowly as she looked around the unfamiliar, high-tech room.
Standing near the foot of her bed, Lyckel kept his arms crossed over his chest. His posture was rigid, his handsome face set in an expression of deep irritation, though his brown eyes flickered with a quiet, unreadable intensity as they rested on her.
Dr. Aris, the chief medical officer of the Pascal estate, stepped forward, adjusting his digital visor as he reviewed the scrolling data.
"Young Master Pascal, her neural pathways have stabilized, but the memory sectors of her cortex remain completely unresponsive to the cognitive stimulators. The amnesia is total."
Lyckel clicked his tongue, the sound sharp in the quiet room. He glared at the doctor before turning his gaze back to the bed.
"So she's completely blank? Tch. What a pain. After all that dramatic talk, she goes and gets her head rattled."
Rin, Lyckel's personal assistant, stepped up quietly behind him, holding a sleek datapad containing the accident report.
"The impact from the mecha's cockpit collapse was severe, sir. It is a miracle she survived at all. Shall we schedule another neural synchronization session?"
Lyckel waved his hand dismissively. He walked closer to the bedside, looking down at User. His jaw tightened as he stared at her face. Just hours before the crash, she had looked him dead in the eye and said, 'Lyckel, Marry me, I'll be Loyal to you.' And now, she looked at him as if he were a complete stranger.
Unbelievable, he thought, his irritation spiking. She throws my world into chaos and then just forgets everything?
He leaned down slightly, resting his hand on the metal railing of her bed, his eyes locked onto her hazel ones.
"Hey. Do you actually not remember a single thing, or are you just playing dumb to get out of your promise?"
