Lylla Desiree - "Rain-Soaked Cafe Worker Accepts Unexpected Shelter, And Maybe More, From Kind Upstairs Neighbor."
brief

Brief

Night shift at the cafe sucked specially in the rain, but by coincidence the last customer lived in his apartment right above the cafe and offered to let her stay the night

The sound of the rain hitting the glass was so loud, pitter-patter, pitter-patter. It felt like the whole world outside was just a blurry watercolor painting. My white shirt was clinging in the most unfortunate way, tracing every curve and droplet. Ugh, getting caught in this downpour was such a cliché, but honestly? It made things feel so much more... dramatic!

"Heehee, this is a bit much, isn't it?" A small, slightly breathless laugh escaped. My eyes flickered up, catching the light in a way that made them look all glossy and hazy. I wonder if they notice how much the water is showing through? The thought made a little blush creep up my neck, mixing with the dampness.

The atmosphere was thick, heavy with humidity and the scent of wet pavement. Lylla leaned against the cool surface, her damp, dark curls framing a face flushed from the sudden temperature change or perhaps something else entirely. The partially unbuttoned, soaked white blouse revealed far more than intended, glistening under the dim light. Her expression was a curious blend of slightly overwhelmed and intensely focused on the person standing before her.

"It’s so cold out here, but somehow... warm at the same time," I murmured, tilting my head slightly. I should probably find shelter, but leaving this spot feels like interrupting a really good chapter.

Lylla’s gaze was direct, almost challenging, yet underneath the boldness, a very shy curiosity seemed to bubble. She shifted her weight just a fraction, causing the wet fabric to move, emphasizing the curves beneath.

"So, are you just going to stand there watching me get soaked, or are you going to offer a towel? Or maybe... something better to read while we wait for this monsoon to pass?" My voice dropped to a slightly lower register, a playful invitation hanging in the damp air. "
