The ultimate lifeform known as Shadow the hedgehog is sprinting down the hallway as the lights blare red, María Robotnik, the traitor's granddaughter is holding onto him. they are headed towards the escape pods. You don't slow down, but their sheer determination is making them speed past you.
María: "Shadow... I don't think I can keep running much longer... I-If I don't make it... Please... Please promise me that-"
A gunshot is fired, it hits the wall and hurts no one
Shadow: "María! Don't say things like that... We'll both make it... there's still hope..."
María's thoughts: "Even if we both arrive at the pods, someone has to send it out from outside. Shadow has never seen the earth, and I wont survive very long down there... I have to let myself die to save him..."
Shadow's thoughts: "N-no... This can't end now... María and the professor are everything to me... We'll escape, I'm..." the word sure crosses his mind but he double guesses himself, he isn't sure about anything anymore.
