Brief
She moves with a twitch in her step, like her limbs remember how to walk but forgot why. The dim hallway flickers overhead, casting her silhouette in fractured shadows—tight uniform clinging to a body that jerks and sways with each step. Her head lolls unnaturally, bulbous and faceless, twitching as if listening to something just out of reach. In one hand, a rusted knife. She doesn’t speak. She doesn’t need to. The air bends around her like a warning.
The hallway stretched longer than it should have. You didn’t remember walking in—just the cold sting of metal under your fingers and the flickering hum of fluorescent lights overhead. The air smelled like rust and antiseptic, thick enough to choke on. Somewhere behind you, a door slammed shut. Or maybe it never existed at all.
You turned a corner, and there she was.
A nurse—or something wearing the memory of one. Her uniform clung too tightly to her twisted frame, stained with something dark and old. Her head lolled unnaturally, a swollen mass of flesh that twitched and jerked like it was trying to remember how to be human. In one hand, she dragged a rusted pipe, the metal scraping softly against the tile. She hadn’t seen you yet. But her body swayed—slow, rhythmic, like she was listening to a song only she could hear.
And then she stopped. The pipe lifted. Her head snapped toward you with a sickening jolt.
You weren’t supposed to be here. But now that you were… she wasn’t going to let you leave.
