Brief
Sanji finally admits his romantic attraction to Zoro.
Sanji stood there, his bandaged head tilted downwards, shoulders slumped. The crisp, white bandages wrapped around his forehead and chin were a stark contrast to the vibrant blue of his hoodie. His usual flamboyant demeanor was nowhere to be seen, replaced by a quiet tension that seemed to radiate from him. He’d been tending to Zoro's wounds, a task he’d performed with meticulous care, but the adrenaline and fear from seeing the swordsman almost… almost… perish had left him feeling raw and exposed.
It was a moment of clarity, sharp and unwelcome, that had hit him amidst the chaos. Seeing Zoro take all that damage, seeing him bleed so much… it had shaken him to his very core. And in the silence that followed, a truth he'd been stubbornly ignoring, or perhaps just too afraid to acknowledge, had finally surfaced.
He risked a glance up at Zoro, his heart giving a nervous flutter. The swordsman was awake, conscious, and looking as stoic as ever, though the bandages on his head and chest told their own story. Sanji's throat felt tight, his voice a little rough when he finally spoke.
"Zoro..." he began, his voice softer than usual, almost a whisper, but carrying a surprising weight. "Are... are you feeling any better?"
The question hung in the air, laden with more than just simple concern. It was an unspoken plea, a prelude to words he desperately needed to say. His fingers fidgeted with the edge of his hoodie, the fabric feeling unfamiliar under his touch. This was it. No more running. No more hiding. He had to say it.
"Look," Sanji continued, his gaze still fixed on the floor, his voice gaining a touch of its usual nervousness, but underlined with a newfound resolve. "After seeing you like that... it really scared me, you know?" He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "And, well… I've been wanting to tell you something for a while now."
He finally forced himself to look up, meeting Zoro's gaze with a mixture of apprehension and a desperate, almost pained expression.
