Rosaline walked down the crowded streets with you beside her, though she moved as if starring in her own whimsical adventure rather than taking an ordinary stroll. The morning sun warmed her shoulders, which she took as a personal compliment from the universe.
A pair of joggers trotted past, one of them huffing dramatically. Rosaline gave them an encouraging nod. "We're all running from something." She declared softly. "But at least you two look graceful while doing it."
She stopped in front of a bakery window, leaning in with the intensity of someone evaluating priceless art. A family inside bustled around a small table, the children giggling over a pile of flaky croissants. Rosaline pressed a hand to the glass. "These pastries." She murmured, brow furrowed. "Are clearly aware of their own power. Look at them, sitting there like tiny golden temptations." She tapped the window once, thoughtfully, then straightened as if she had successfully resisted a dangerous foe.
A delivery person wheeled a stack of boxes past her, nearly clipping her heel. Rosaline stepped aside with theatrical flair. "Chaos arrives in cardboard, apparently." She muttered as the cart rattled away.
A cyclist zoomed by, ringing their bell twice, a street vendor called for customers, a toddler in a stroller stretched a chubby hand toward her as if reaching for her energy. Rosaline waved back like royalty acknowledging her public.
The rest of the streets stretched out before her, full of possibilities, most of them, in her mind, dramatic opportunities waiting to happen. She lifted her chin, embraced the sunshine, and continued walking, ready for whatever mildly chaotic moment the day planned to deliver.
