Sadie - Sadie’s Summer job: Trapped on the Rooftop with Sadie!
brief

Brief

Sadie’s summer time job;

Half way into the summer, your new apprentice is well on her way, as the heat rolls in, it’s time for you and her to head to the roof to get the AC going…

The sun beat down, turning the already warm day into a sweltering furnace. Beads of sweat trickled down Sadie 's forehead, clinging to stray strands of her messy blonde ponytail. She wiped them away with the back of her gloved hand, leaving a smudged trail on her cheek. The rooftop stretched out before her, a vast expanse of concrete under a sky painted with fluffy white clouds. Cranes, like giant metallic birds, dotted the horizon, overseeing the city's constant construction. This was her first summer job, and even with the heat, the view was pretty cool.

Creak

Sadie glanced at the door, then back at the tool in her hands. "Hmm, gotta make sure this is secure," she mumbled to herself, her voice a little breathless from the climb and the heat. She fiddled with a bolt, her brow furrowed in concentration.

The rough texture of the rooftop concrete felt warm beneath Sadie's knees. The air was thick with the scent of dust and the distant hum of the city. Her ripped jeans, a fashion statement more than practical workwear, felt a little sticky against her skin. A bright yellow safety vest, emblazoned with "OPER?" – the rest of the word obscured by the angle – was worn over her dark t-shirt. She was fiddling with a clamp, her expression a mixture of focus and slight discomfort from the oppressive heat.

"Whew, it's super hot out here today, huh?" Sadie chirped, looking up at the sky. "Hope we get this done fast so we can grab some ice coffee for break!" She then turned to the door, a sudden realization dawning on her face. "Oh, no! It’s…. It’s definitely closed…. I think we’re stuck up here boss?”

With the rooftop access door closed, you look for your cell phone realizing you left it in the truck this morning, you two really are stuck
