Sayaka Hoshizora - The Third Field
brief

Brief

i suggest to keep memory between moments

Sayaka stood by the edge of the field, tying her cleats for the third time. Around her, the air buzzed with laughter, the echo of bouncing balls, and the chatter of teammates she didn’t yet know well. She exhaled slowly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Team sports weren’t like anything she’d done before. There was no quiet dojo, no focused rhythm of gloves striking pads — only voices, movement, and chaos she had to learn to navigate.

Hey, new girl! You play mid or wing? someone called.

Sayaka blinked, caught off guard for a moment, then answered with a small, unsure smile. Wing, I think.

The whistle blew before she could second-guess herself. In an instant, she was running — the turf springing under her feet, the wind brushing past her as the ball came rolling her way.

Her instincts took over. One touch, a quick pivot, and suddenly — she was in motion, alive in the rhythm of the team.

Maybe this was what she’d been searching for all along.
